PDFs are universal too so you're not locked to OneNote. Dropbox, and that sync is guaranteed to be a lot more stable than OneNote, which has sync issues up the *** once you start using multiple devices and put a lot of stuff in your notebooks. You can easily sync notes you've taken in PDF based apps using e.g. I don't create notes from scratch, so Drawboard might be better at that than Xodo. The better alternative to that on Windows is imho Xodo, which is also completely free, but that depends on how you use it. DrawBoard is a PDF reading and annotation app. OneNote is a note taking app and doesn't really have much of a competitor on Windows. They're really two different types of apps. I will need an app for hand-writing all my notes throughout college as a biochem major. Tl dr I can't pick between onenote and Drawboard. Thank you for any tips/experiences you give! But I'd like to have everything in one place, so whether or not onenote lags with the more pages I have open is an important factor to me. I understand that I can do a lot more with onenote, but I doubt I'll actually use the extra features for taking notes. It can also do everything that onenote can do as far as the features I am interested in using. As for drawboard, I like the modern design it has as well as the organization of it quite a bit more than onenote. I don't know how many slides/pages it would take to start to lag the application as I don't know the typical number of slides a professor utilizes in college. Something else I heard about onenote is that the more slides a powerpoint has (i would upload it to annotate), the slower onenote will become. Also though, I wouldn't mind sending them to myself in some way to access documents across platforms if I do end up going with Drawboard. I also like the fact that I can sync it across all of my devices as I will have a desktop pc in college. I like the versatility and functionality of one note. However, I don't know which of these apps to choose from. I have a surface book 2 that I plan on using to hand-write all of my notes throughout college. I am about to be a freshman in college as well as a Biochem major. Any information that anyone has will be greatly appreciated. Ok so I know there have been multiple questions as to which software is better, but I have yet to find a post that answers my question to the fullest extent.
